Please note that this week’s Mass will be celebrated at 12.00pm by Fr Deveikis at the Lithuanian Section of Rookwood Cemetery, near the monument, due to late notice of the unavailability of space at the premises of St Joachim’s, Lidcombe.
These are the dates/venues of upcoming Masses by Fr Deveikis for the remainder of the year:
- Saturday 15 August, 12.00pm - Lithuanian section, Rookwood Cemetery.
- Saturday 19 September, 12.00pm - room at St Joachim’s premises, Lidcombe.
- Saturday 17 October, 12.00pm - Sodyba, Yarrawarrah (Engadine).
- Saturday 21 November, 11.00am - Graveside blessings followed by Mass, Lithuanian section, Rookwood Cemetery.
- Friday 18 December, 5.00pm - Mass at the Sodyba, Yarrawarrah (Engadine).
- Saturday 19 December, 12.00pm - room at St Joachim’s premises, Lidcombe.
- Thursday 24 December - Kučios, 5.00pm Shepherd’s Mass, Lithuanian Club at Latvian House, Strathfield.

SUNDAY 06 SEPTEMBER - Father's Day Lunch
12.00pm - All gents will receive a complimentary drink on arrival
At 1.30pm the Father's Day raffle will be drawn, followed by a short musical program presented by ALBS and curated by dr. Gražina Pranauskienė to honour fathers and to celebrate Lithuanian Year of Jazz.
Courtesy bus from Sodyba 10.45am/Bankstown Sports 11.15am to Strathfield; Return pick-up 3.00pm. Cost $5.

UNSW Diversity Festival - 21-25 September - Kensington Campus, UNSW
Lithuanian Programme - Tuesday 22 September
12.00pm - 2.00pm - Dancing by Sūkurys members on the lawn in front of the Main Library. Food stall by Aušra Mažeikaitė. Additional musical performances.
The annual UNSW Diversity Festival is a week-long celebration of the cultures, identities and communities that make up the university. The entire campus is transformed into a vibrant festival filled with performances, food, workshops, social events, exhibitions and activities hosted by student societies and university groups. It is a very high profile event with over 16,000 attendees last year.
This year for the first time, the European Society at the University will be hosting some events. The President of the European Society is student Agna Kuzinkovaitė, whose family would be known to many of you. They are active Club members and were also financial supporters when the Club needed them. Agna has taken this opportunity to expose and promote her Lithuanian culture and has reached out to the Club to assist. Pleased to say that Jurgita Černauskaitė ALBS has been able to get the ball rolling, even though she’s overseas. Kristina Rupsienė will also be assisting/participating, although it may be a bit tricky for all members of her groups, as it will be a working day. Sounds very exciting. Hope you’ll be able to attend and show your support.
Saturday 03 October - Sydney Baltic Markets
9.00am - 3.00pm - Latvian House, 32 Parnell Street, Strathfield.
Organised by Sydney Latvian Society. Available at the markets will be handmade crafts, including handmade Baltic inspired jewellery, Baltic art, traditional cakes and craft events for children, as well as some pop-up performances. Traditional Latvian food will be available from the cafe during the event.
Note: As usual, in order to encourage Lithuanian participation, the Club will pay the hire fee for all Lithuanian stall holders. Please book your stall directly with the organisers (can be done online) and let them know you’re Lithuanian and that the Club will be paying the hire fees, they are aware of the arrangement.
